Manama, Bahrain – 25 July, 2012: Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), a prominent Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, organized a summer internship program as part of the bank’s CSR initiative, during July and August this year for 20 interns from local and overseas university students. This two month program was designed for university students in their final years to do their practical training as part of the pre-requirement for graduation.
The tailored-made summer internship program will expose the interns to work experience in a variety of departments, along with numerous training workshops organized by the Human Resources department in coordination with other departments. The trainings will include topics on: risk management, commercial banking, treasury and capital markets, anti-money laundering, CV preparation and interviews preparation.
The efforts of the Human Resources department ensured a well-rounded program for the interns to get hands-on experience of the corporate world that applies both theoretical and practical training experiences. Other skills that the interns would gain are leadership skills, team work, and how to handle work under pressure with the market demands. The purpose of this program is to allow the interns to experience day-to-day banking operations in the Islamic banking sector.
The program will end with the interns conducting a presentation about their departments, and the learning experience they encountered.
